NAME: Titus Alexius
CANON: Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic
CANON POINT: Night 164
AGE: 15 (fourteen years of self-awareness while growing on a magical tree + about a year and a half out in the world; he also shares the magical expertise and eventually also the memories of the "mother" he was cloned from, who was 268 when she died.)
BACKGROUND: wiki (missing info from the manga's Final Arc, but that's quite a bit past his canon point)

PERSONALITY: Most of the way Titus is springs from the fact of what he is—an artifically created magical being with a drastically limited lifespan who will essentially just dissolve as soon as the magic poured into him during his incubation runs out. The stories that Scheherazade, his "mother" and the Magi/high priestess of the Reim empire, shared with him were his only contact with or knowledge of the outside world during the fourteen years he spent in darkness. When he was finally "born," it wasn't long before he was sent, alone, on a mission to a magic academy in a foreign country, Magnostadt, to gather intelligence for Reim.

Initially, he has no idea how to behave, so he takes his cues from his cover story (the scion of one of Reim's foremost noble families) and the reactions of couple of sycophantic Crabbe and Goyle-esque followers and crafts a spoiled, arrogant persona; he brags about his magical prowess, is openly disdainful of the other students, and is quick to get flustered and make threats when insulted. However, as soon as he meets a friend he can trust who makes him feel safe enough to reveal his real identity and purpose, his true nature shines through; he's enthusiastic, curious, and quickly grows to care deeply about pretty much anyone he develops any kind of relationship with, wearing his heart on his sleeve. He can still be quite haughty and petty, but it's reserved for facing foes or teasing friends; he stops being nasty to random strangers cold turkey and displays a total inability to hold a grudge, showing kindness and offering friendship even to people who've tried to kill him or destroy his self-worth. (That's also kind of paying it forward, though, since Titus DID panic and try to kill Aladdin shortly after they first met, but was forgiven after offering a sincere apology.)

Because of all the time he spent alone and unable to interact with the world, he's quite naive in a number of ways and is thrilled by completely normal things (such as a cat that says "meow," shops, a baby, and the sky); he's hungry for new experiences, whether that means seeing firsthand things he'd only heard of, or learning something entirely new. All along, of course, he's fully aware that he doesn't have much time left to live. Initially, he's happy and grateful just to have had the chance to experience life and see the way people live their lives, but as he grows to love the world and certain people in it more and more—and once he kiiiiiiind of ends up with an adopted little sister, Marga, whose lifesaving medical treatments are dependent on Titus's continued good standing (and existence!) in Magnostadt—he becomes increasingly miserable about his fate and desperate to find any way to keep on living. He ultimately makes peace with his death, sacrifices himself to protect everyone he knows, and gets unexpectedly reincarnated (in another spare body of Scheherazade's that she happened to have cooking when she died), as one does. After this point, he no longer needs to worry about an expiration date (even though his body is still artificial, he's become the new Magi and will thus never run out of magical energy), but he retains a commitment to living life to the fullest in the present because the future is never a guarantee.

He has an incredibly strong sense of justice, but can initially be impulsive and shortsighted when it comes to enacting it. (When he discovers systemic oppression that keeps Marga and hundreds of thousands of other poor, nonmagical people underground while their energy is slowly siphoned to power the magical infrastructure on the surface, his proposed solution is to blow a hole in the ceiling and immediately rescue every single one of them.) He argues fiercely in favor of what he believes is right, but tends to break down in self-doubt when challenged on a personal level (for example, when someone suggests that his anger on Marga's behalf is entirely self-serving projection rather than genuine concern; or when someone convincingly argues that it's ridiculous for him to fight to keep on living, since, after all, he's an unnatural monster who should never have been born in the first place). At times he wavers, doubts, and struggles to live up to his ideals—and hates himself for it every second—but with the support of his loved ones, he's able to rediscover his path, and ultimately he develops a pretty impressive moral clarity. (When he comes to power as the Magi of Reim, his first priority is the abolition of slavery; he is 100% unmoved by protestations that it's impossible because the economy depends on forced labor, or proposals that they could just gradually phase it out instead of ending it outright.)

In the end, Titus is an open-hearted young man with lofty ideals, a zest for everything life has to offer, and a boundless capacity for love and forgiveness. ...And also he kind of has this thing he does where, whenever he's feeling uncertain or doubting himself, he sneaks around in the middle of the night and pays people surprise home visits. But that's neither here nor there!
